The Matchless SC mini has a tube 5ar4, a 12ax7, EF86, and an EL84 and is PC, circuit board. I’m fairly certain the Vox AC4 HW has only two tubes, a 12ax7 and an EL84.

Matchless design and sell electric guitar amplifiers that set the bar for durability and tone. Wondering if I could run stereo and use another amp as a monitor? Anyone done this? I’ve never ran stereo before Matchless amplifiers hold a simple philosophy, to build the best, most versatile amplifier possible. It has both kickstart and electric start. Lights, horn, brakes and gears work fine. Bike has been test ridden around the block. I guess I always have my JC-120 to lug around even though it’s overkill. 1966 Honda Other, Honda C102 Super Cub 1966 (Red & White) General Fine running 1966 Honda C102 Super Cub 50cc Collector Motorcycle in outstanding original condition for a 50-year-old bike. I have a Dr.Z and a Matchless Mini SC, but THIS is the sound. I kind of see myself maybe needing the volume of the 15. Ive owned a few Vox amps that have been sold but at the price of a stock Blues Jr Ill. My biggest question now is if I go AC4, will I be getting something that doesn’t keep up with the drummer for stage volume purposes? Quality, size and price point tell me the vox. I didn’t even look into the amount of tubes each has.

If you like/want a Vox sound, that seems like the way to go. With the HW having a 12” speaker, it should sound very good on its own. to create an amplifier at an attainable price point while staying true to our quality based principles. MATCHLESS SC MINI PRICE PLUS
They both have 12” speakers, that’s a big plus for sound. The PreAmp input is an EF86/6267 with a 6 position rotary switch sweeping from thin to fat in tone. The output is a single EL84/6BQ5 which is cathode self biased and is true Class A with a single ended output transformer. It’s powered by a 5AR4/GZ34 Rectifier tube. I’m still very much in love with the Mesa and I have a Princeton RI sitting in the corner collecting dust while I use it, and I realized the SC Mini wouldn’t be hard to swing if I sold the Princeton, and it sort of fills the same small amp that sounds big niche it. I think a lot depends on the sound you’re looking for, more than anything else. I’d always wanted a Mesa TA-15 and the Matchless was out of my price range.
